AFP of North Alabama is an affiliate chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) which is the professional association of individuals and organizations that generate philanthropic support for a wide variety of charitable institutions. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its more than 30,000 members in 230 chapters throughout the world. Alabama is home to four chapters of the AFP: The Alabama Chapter based in Birmingham, the Central Alabama Chapter based in Montgomery, the Gulf Coast Alabama Chapter based in Mobile and the North Alabama Chapter based in Huntsville. These AFP Chapters promote philanthropy in their local communities, provide education and networking opportunities for fundraising professionals and support the fundraising profession both nationally and locally.
