They can eat grass and bugs in addition to their ration. The birds are completely free from any non-therapeutic antibiotics weight inducing hormones. At BJ Organic Farms egg productivity is maintained naturally by not practicing force molting and the chicken are fully allowed to grow as naturally.All the birds in our free-range facility are given outdoor access. They can walk run and fly they have the opportunity to forage and dust bathe and sun bathe they have places to perch and roost and they peck at the bugs grass and grains from the ground. They engage in comfort behavior such as wing-flapping and preening they exercise and explore.Another reason for our hens to be happy is that they have the opportunity to lay their eggs in nests which is a very important and natural behavior that they experience. Also our premise is cleaned on a daily basis preventing the bird droppings from accumulating and polluting the air with ammonia thus keeping the birds healthier.
