Beerfood is a brussels-based start-up created in 2017 by Rodolphe Paternostre and Alan Dartevelle. We were brewing beers at home and did not know what to do with our leftover grains. We realised urban microbreweries generally had no solutions for their spent grains and hundreds of kilos of delicious grains were going to waste. We found out that an American start-up made delicious cereal bars with those grains. Our passion for craft beers met our expertise in circular economy. The project Beerfood was born. We did thousands of trials and errors the three following years to develop our product and establish a process of production, looking for the perfect balance between great taste, healthy food and economic viability. That is how lawyers, civil engineers and communication specialists worked hand in hand with chefs, bakers and nutritionists to elaborate three amazing flavours with the colors of Belgium: Smoked Onions (Black), Mustard & Rosemary (Yellow), Red Beet and Fennel (Red). In May 2019 we started putting our crackers on the market in various shops, bars, caterers, hotels in Brussels and in the Walloon part. In March 2020, we used the Covid pandemy to put in place an E-SHOP and we started selling Apero Packs. Today we've already sold more than 1000 Apero Packs.
