BirchBark Foundation protects and honors the human-animal bond through financial assistance to vulnerable families faced with unaffordable medical expenses to save the life of a pet. We support all families with our education and pet loss counseling programs. We currently serve the communities of Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties with our veterinary support grants.Financial Grants: Our financial grants help low-income pet owners who cannot cover the costs of medical care when a pet faces life-threatening, or life-compromising illness. We partner with local veterinary hospitals that discount their fees by 25%. BirchBark pays up to 50%, and the pet owner is responsible for remaining 25%. Pet Education: Our webinar educational series features professionals providing short seminars on how to be the best advocate for your pet. We feature quarterly pet education seminars led by experts.
