If you have orders to this NATO base in the province of Catania, Sicily, we will be happy to assist you in every possible way to become familiar with your new residence and workplace. For starters, you will be assigned a sponsor and you will be encouraged to dialogue with him or her regarding any plans and questions you may have concerning your transfer or your integration into the Sigonella community.AIMD Sigonella is a wonderful place to work situated on the NAS 2 where the airfield is located. NAS 1 is located a short distance away and is where most of the social and shopping facilities are located. The Italian people are very warm and welcoming of American military. The American presence is of such a size that we can enjoy a true sense of community here while still being able to expand social circles to include an international feel. The opportunities for developing Italian and other European friendships are, of course, limitless!
