Chartagena is specialized in aerial and satellite photography,photogrammetry and remote sensing through innovative UAV-based remote sensing technologies. UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)are electric, ecologic, silent, safe, flexible and customizable, equipped with automatic positioning and stabilization systems. UAVs allow to observe, study and monitor the Earth surface and the phenomena affecting it at a short distance and from perspectives which were not accessible so far (proximal remote sensing). Chartagena is equipped with several high-resolution imaging sensors, including multispectral cameras which are sensitive in the visible, near infrared and thermal infrared spectral ranges. The fields of application of proximal remote sensing are e.g. crop health monitoring, forest mapping, geology, engineering, land inspection and surveillance, hydrogeological risk assessment and management, infrastructure and heritage conservation assessment, thermal dispersion detection in buildings, aerial photography and video for information and promotion purposes, orthophotography, 3D modeling, just to mention a few.
