They had both worked in the leasing industry for around 15 years by then and were looking for a new challenge. Having ran Freeway (the personal leasing arm of Bank of Scotland) and also looking after sales teams for a multitude of industry sectors, they were well placed to get a new business up and running and their banking background was a good footing to do so.The business was set up as Mercury Vehicle Solutions, they quickly discovered though that the website (MVScars.co.uk) had the worst three letters to get over on the phone (M or N? , V or B? ,S or F?) so they quickly set up a trading style that said exactly what the business did. The brand name Carleasing-online was born. Mercury is still around, just as our holding company.One of the aims they had in setting out was to provide great service, market leading prices and the personal touch.
