Casa Cacao is a cocoa producing company, located in Puerto Barrios, Izabal. It was born in 2017 within a farm called El Vendaval, with 224,000 square meters of cultivated land with fine and scent cocoa. The technical knowledge was acquired with the support of the FHIA (Fundación Hondureña de Investigación Agrícola), who provide us clones (seeds) considered to be of high productivity and quality.In 2018, two groups of clones were planted, recommended by the FHIA that allow the pollination of cocoa plants. Group 1: ICS1, ICS39, TSH565 and ICS95; Group 2: UF613, UF667, ICS39 and ICS95.In the region we have two strong production seasons: the first one in May, June, and July and the second in November, December and January, In the rest of the months the harvest falls and therefore Casa Cacao is dedicated to the processing and commercialization of the product.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Casa Cacao es una empresa productora de cacao, ubicada en Puerto Barrios, Izabal. Nace en el año 2017 dentro de la Finca El Vendaval, con 224,000 metros cuadrados de siembra con cacao fino de aroma. El conocimiento técnico fue adquirido con apoyo de FHIA (Fundación Hondureña de Investigación Agrícola), quienes nos proporcionaron clones (semillas) considerados de alta productividad y calidad.En el año 2018 se sembraron dos grupos de clones, recomendados por la FHIA que permiten la polinización de las plantas de cacao. Grupo 1: ICS1, ICS39, TSH565 y ICS95; Grupo 2: UF613, UF667, ICS39 e ICS95.En la región tenemos dos temporadas fuertes de producción: la primera en mayo, junio y julio y la segunda en noviembre, diciembre y enero, en el resto de los meses baja la cosecha y por consiguiente Casa Cacao se dedica al procesamiento y comercialización del producto.
