The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. To empower students to stay in school, CIS provides customized resources based on a six component model:-Supportive guidance and counseling-Tutoring and academic support strategies-College readiness and pre-employment preparation-Health, fitness, mental health and basic needs referrals-Enrichment including mentoring and our Play2Learn Afterschool Program-Parental involvement including home visitsCommunities In Schools of the Heart of Texas (CIS-HOT) is part of the national Communities In Schools network, the nation's largest dropout prevention organization, serving 1.48 million students every year.
