Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship (CRS) is a national nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to promoting a genuinely conservative stewardship ethic, reawakening that ethic in conservatives, and empowering them with the knowledge and support needed to become strong and effective advocates for prudently safeguarding the environment and conserving our nation's natural wealth.CRS advances its mission through education, grassroots engagement and advocacy. Its members are conservative/center-right individuals from across the nation who are concerned about the health of our environment, who believe strongly in conservatism's stewardship mandate, and who want to see conservative leaders constructively engaged in addressing the environmental problems we currently face.Founded in 1999 as REP Environmental Education Foundation, the organization operated for over a decade under the name ConservAmerica. In 2013 the organization strategically re-positioned itself as a grassroots organization, revised its mission, hired a president and changed its name to Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship.
