In 2016, the University of Oklahoma was awarded a ten-year designation as Technical Lead for the Federal Aviation Administration's newest Center of Excellence, focused on Technical Training and Human Performance. The FAA Center of Excellence program is authorized by Congress as a long-term agreement for mission-critical research between academic, industry, and government.
