Through methods of recycling and reusing bicycles, trikes, bicycle parts, helmets, and scooters, Gearing Up for Hope's mission is to establish cycling communities around the world to promote human-powered transportation. Our goal is to get bicycles into the hands of people in developing communities to give them the opportunity to reach medical aid, education and work that they would not be able to reach otherwise. As a secondary effort, Gearing Up for Hope will educate communities in the areas of maintenance and repair with the intent to build a fully developed and self-sustaining cycling community.
