DSIK is the development-policy arm of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. DSIK SEA actively focuses on Financial Literacy, Capacity Building, MSME Finance, Institution Building & Rural Finance across Vietnam, Laos & Myanmar.Vietnam - DSIK works with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) for support in implementing the "National Financial Inclusion Strategy". In the meantime, DSIK supports the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) in professionalizing its Microfinance and Microinsurance activities. This includes a strategic development of the partner institutions Tinh Thuong Microfinance Institution (TYM) and Micro Insurance Fund (MIF) with a special focus on business continuity management, digitization and capacity development for specialists and middle management. Laos - DSIK is supporting the Lao Women's Union (LWU) in professionalizing its microfinance activities. This includes a further strategic development of the partner institution Women and Family Development Fund (WFDF) with a special focus on business continuity management, digitization and capacity development for specialists and middle management. DSIK is helping LWU to introduce a support and control system for the purpose of formalizing the CFOs. The total number of CFOs nationwide can only be estimated but all attempts at this have been quoting numbers in the thousands. DSIK added a second project with activities beyond the LWU level. The project objective here is as well to formalize and strengthen selected CFOs, so that they can sustainably provide financial services to the target groups.Myanmar - DSIK is supporting CARD Myanmar in professionalizing its microfinance activities. This includes a further strategic development with a special focus on business continuity management, digitization and capacity development for specialists and middle management. Activities are planned through collaboration with the Myanmar Micro Finance Association (MFA) and Thitsa Works, a media specialist for financial education.
