GogoEco retails recycled material products to city and county governments. As a nation, in 2014, we collected 258.5 million tons of waste. Our landfills received 136 million tons, (65%) and we collected 89.4 million tons (34.6%) to be recycled. Of the recycled, at least 25% was not usable by Reclaimers and was sent back to landfills. There are many ways that we can improve on these percentages, but the single, best way is to further develop the market for recycled material products. If there isn't a market for recycled material products then there is no reason to recycle.Our City and County governments are in a position through their purchasing decisions, acting as visible examples, and legislation to lead their communities in the use of recycled material products. At the same time, cities face net losses to support recycling, heavy capital investments to improve sorting technology, and community backlash for restricting certain plastics. Cities and counties need our support. Generally, recycled material products are offered as secondary products. The perception for decades has been that these products are inferior.
