Hotel Restaurant Hollerather Hof was built in 1933/1934. The build was commissioned by the authority, whose idea was that the hotel would serve as an example for all hotels in the Eifel region. The was a booming winder sports area and was growing more popular at that time.The hotel was then known as " Sports Hotel Restaurant Hollerather Hof ". Simultaneously with the completion of the Hollerather Hof, the "Adolf Hitler Schans" was opened. This ski-jump was the largest and most modern in the Eifel region and served as the primary training ramp for the " Westdeutschen Skiverband ". The hotel offered shelter to members of the Ski Association. During the Second World War the ski-jump was completely destroyed and the hotel was badly damaged. This is not surprising because the area was the scene of the famous Battle of the Bulge or The Ardennes Offensive. Many buildings in the area were damaged or were completely destroyed, so was the church of Hollerath. Since the hotel was one of the few buildings that was still largely intact, after the war the cellar served as a temporary church. The Sunday school also took shelter in the hotel. In 1954 the ruins of the Hotel where completely rebuilt. In the following years the tourism again began to flourish. The hotel was known throughout the Eifel region and beyond and was also highly respected culinary.
