ICCC is a mission of Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the goal to provide young children with a warm, safe, caring Christian environment in which to grow and learn. ICCC has eight classrooms (two infant rooms, three toddler rooms, two preschool rooms, and one school age room) that care for about 110 children infant through age twelve. ICCC values qualified, experienced teachers. The lead classroom teachers have education degrees and/or certifications. All caregivers are First Aid and CPR certified and attend a variety of trainings throughout the year in the Early Childhood field. The classes at ICCC make use of the Creative Curriculum, which focuses on fostering children's natural curiosity and desire to learn. Children's growth and development is documented weekly and instruction is adjusted to meet each child's individual needs. The classroom environments are set up to provide interest areas in science, math, fine motor, active play, music and movement, block play, dramatic play, sensory play and more. ICCC has a large, fenced-in outdoor playground as well as an indoor gymnasium. Each class also uses a daily Christian devotional curriculum to lay a firm foundation of faith. The School Age program provides year-round care for children ages 5-12. This includes before and after school care during the school year as well as a summer program with daily field trips, swimming and lots of outdoor play! ICCC provides transportation to and from all Grand Forks and East Grand Forks schools via several fifteen passenger vans. The school age and preschool classes also make use of the vans to take a variety of field trips around the community, such as to the library, splash parks, gymnastics, pumpkin patches, and more.
