India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce, set up in 1984, is the only multilateral organization in the country promoting trade and investment relations between India and ASEAN (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and Sri Lanka. The Chamber celebrated its Silver Jubilee in November 2009 with His Excellency The Governor of Tamil Nadu as Chief Guest and Dr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Mr. Vijay Iyengar, Chairman, Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, as Guests of Honour.The Chamber's activities include:• Exchange of trade enquiries and information between India and these countries.• Information to Members on Government tenders for different projects.• Circulating to Members well documented periodic reports on economic /commercial conditions in Sri Lanka and ASEAN received from respective Embassies and High Commissions.• Sending Trade Delegations to these countries.• Organizing meetings with the visiting ministers /diplomats / trade delegations from these countries for interaction with Members of the Chamber• Issuing letters of introduction to the Members proceeding to these countries on business trips, etc.
