Institute for World Economy of the Romanian Academy

The Institute for World Economy (IWE) is leading organisation in economic research in Romania, linked with the Romanian Academy. IWE has five research departments, with approximately 40 employees. IWE provides descriptive and analytical research on topics like European integration process, banks and financial markets, trade policies, economic education, international economic and development policies, and country analyses. The research activities are reflected in studies, working papers, policy papers, books, articles, academic conferences, seminars, and round-table discussions. Also, IWE offers a high-quality PhD program in Economics. These activities have been policy oriented, by supporting national authorities and business environment with economic knowledge. IWE has participated in numerous national and international research projects and developed inter-institutional collaboration with national and international organisations.
