MegaPatch was created as an R & D project by Polycon International LLC, a 20-year-old Mississippi company specializing in polymer composite overlays. In 2007, we attempted to create a durable, non-bituminous, pothole repair material. The original formula was a success, but it took over 3 hours to cure for traffic. In 2012, we introduced a component that would significantly accelerate the polymer composite cure time allowing immediate traffic. In order to offer a five-year warranty, the new formulation had to be tested in various conditions for a period of five years to assure that the product would last. We tested MegaPatch in the worst conditions possible including Canada's sub-freezing temperatures, heavy construction zones in Mississippi, and on a Mississippi road that floods every winter. As a result of the success of these tests, Mega Technology LLC was formed in 2017 to produce MegaPatch. We then created "Mega-Pro," a mobile mixing system that would allow MegaPatch to be jobsite mixed. The system is designed for large volume production, producing in excess of 150 filled potholes per day with a 4 person crew. It can also be used for small applications using a two person crew.
