Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (#MDM) awards funding to promising film and media projects realised in the German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. MDM has supported numerous international co-productions. In 2021, it expanded its activities with #MEDIAstart: a program supporting media #startups that were founded within the last three years and have their permanent head office in the region of #Mitteldeutschland. Each year up to 10 companies are selected for #MEDIAstart. They receive financial support, tailor-made education and mentoring in order to successfully establish themselves on the market.
