The NYC Police Alliance was a "not-for-profit" corporation, under Title 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. A "tax exempt" certificate has also beenissued by the State of New York. The NYC Police Alliance is a"recognized and certified charity, registered with the Charities Bureau, Officeof Attorney General, and State of New York. All donations made to the NYCPolice Alliance are "tax deductible" under current IRS law and inaccordance withUS Treasury Regulations.The "Mission Statement" as indicated in the by-laws is: "Toassist the police department in programs that enhance mutualrespect and confidence between the police and the community,with special emphasis on Elder care and support, Childprotection and Youth development."
