"Prophecy Music Project is an ensemble of professional dancers and musiciansdedicated to the performance, practice and preservation of traditionalAfrican and African Diasporan music and dance. Prophecy's talented membershave dedicated their artistic lives not only to performing the music anddance forms of the African Diaspora but also to sharing those forms andeducating the public about them as well. Having studied and performedtogether for over 12 years, the group has mastered genres of music from allover the Afro Atlantic. With a repertoire that includes music forms fromAfrican, Afro Caribbean, and Afro Latin American percussion, to the blues,and African American spirituals, Prophecy Music Project traces the Africanroots of rhythms, music, dance and folklore found in American, AfricanAmerican, Caribbean, and South American cultures.
