Established in 1962, Pleasant Valley Acres has grown to be a local staple in the great town of Cumberland Maine. In 1983, my grandmother Betty Weir, Founder of Pleasant Valley Acres, started the first local Farmers Market in town. Betty Weir is a founding member of the MOFGA Association - Maine Organic Farmers & Gardners Association, along with being a founding member of the Cumberland & Falmouth Farmers Market.Pleasant Valley Acres is certified organic and most of our produce is distributed through our 50 member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). The farm also has 85 shares with the Maine Senior Farmshare program, a program of the Maine Department of Agriculture where eligible seniors receive $50.00 worth of fresh produce during the growing season. At Pleasant Valley Acres, we want to promote making healthy & nutritious choices through local resources. We sell produce such as cucumbers, lettuce, chives, zucchini, broccoli, kale, sugar snap peas - to name a few; we also raise and grass feed our own beef, free-ranging chickens producing farm-fresh eggs daily and produce our own hay to sell by the bail.Kicking off the 2018 Season, May 12th, you can purchase these items each week at the weekly Cumberland & Falmouth Farmers Market.FALMOUTH - STARTING MAY 1620 Hat Trick Drive (behind Walmart/next to Family Ice Center)Wednesdays 3pm - 6pmCUMBERLAND - STARTING MAY 12290 Tuttle Road (outside Cumberland Town Hall)Saturdays 10am - 1pmEach week, you will find Gene, Vice President of the Cumberland & Falmouth Farmers Market & brother son to Betty Weir, at both Markets with fresh, healthy food for you and your family.
