Lisa Preston: American born but grew up in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I love yoga, reading poetry, gardening, and farmer's markets (they truly are the best way to understand a culture!) My favorite aspect of photography is when serendipity hits reality and something magical happens and my camera is set at the right exposure and click! Nils Schlebusch: French, Estonian, German and raised in Spain. He loves tennis, architecture, snowboarding with his daughter and can make a mean Spanish tortilla. He seems to master all things technical in photography but always has a fresh perspective on a shot that never occurs to me. Mainly though, he has great charisma and always sets a easeful tone on any shoot. Of course, I am a bit biased because I also chose him as my partner in life.Preston Schlebusch is Lisa Preston and Nils Schlebusch. We were a young couple who moved to NYC with a dream to live in one of the meccas of photography. We started out assisting some of the busiest fashion photographers of New York. Then one winter we decided to take a trip to Cuba to escape a commercial Christmas and play with our new field camera. Photographing locals in Havana and villages south for a personal project, we started our teamwork and ignited our passion for travel photography. Upon our return, Travel + Leisure magazine encouraged that passion by sending us on our first editorial shoot to Malaysia and soon after to Ecuador. Now after many years of collaboration we still find so much joy working for our clients. Our curiosity for the world and our love of connecting and learning about other people's lives shines through our images and we feel blessed to call The World our office.
