RODO is the acronym of Romualdo Dori, who founded the company in 1956, beginning with the production of wicker and straw bags that were very requested and fashionable during the 50ies in Florence.Since 1956, RODO had the plus of a solid family structure that with enthusiasm, passion and entrepreneurial spirit led Romualdo Dori, leading force of the company, to hand down to his sons Gianni and Maurizio the core values of the RODO experience.To maintain the spirit of the beginning and the image of the brand, in 1962 RODO built its own factory in Mogliano, the heart of the Marche's district which already at that time guaranteed the highest quality of raw materials and weaving craftsmanship of wicker and straw.From sophisticated day and evening bags to refined accessories, from leather and metal goods to footwear: all the collections are created from the master craftsmen's ability where the production knowledge has been preserved and developed over the time.The research and complexity of today's offer are the result of team work and continuous collaboration with fashion designers and stylists.During the years, no effort was spared in the research of the best materials, in the choice of the leathers or any other component. All skins are kept as natural as possible, without treatments or alterations, as well as for the workmaships of shoes and bags: in pa rticular, the heel's manifacturing may include special techniques such as assembly on lasts and pressing.Quality control is accomplished during each stage of production. It's a long and complex process, determined by machineries' precision and the ability during manual labour, that allows the creation of products made perfect in every detail.RODO opened its first flagship store in Milan during February 2012 "fashion week". The space has been conceived to communicate Italian luxury artisanal aspects and the history of RODO that since 1956 has witnessed the evolution of Italy's fashion and its myriad of creations.
