SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Section, previously known as the SPE WIN WoMen in Hydraulic Fracturing community. The purpose of this Section shall beto further the objectives of the Society in the open discussion of matters relating to hydraulicfracturing, to generate awareness on industry best practices, and to promote those practiceswidely.The Vision of the Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Section is as follows: Capability development related to Hydraulic Fracturing technology through on-lineevents, online networking, workshops, and conferences. Encourage SPE global outreach and diversity, with emphasis on recognition ofprofessional women in the oilfield, and their contribution to the hydraulic fracturingcommunity. This should include having an event recognizing women in hydraulicfracturing at the Hydraulic Fracturing Conferences annually. Transfer of knowledge and best practices through meetings, events, communications,articles in JPT, TWA, and other SPE publications; technical papers and presentations; andSPE Connect. Promotion of professionalism, certification, and Distinguished Lecturer programmingapplicable to hydraulic fracturing operations. Nomination of worthy candidates for SPE Awards in the domain. Promote sustainability and mitigate the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing inpursuit of operational excellence. Encourage the digitalization and automation of hydraulic fracturing technology. Support for public education through contributions and student engagement.The FASTS will recognize female professionals in the oil field and their contribution in thecommunity through representations in leadership positions at the Board of Directors levels andat other areas of activities such as giving them opportunities to present within the technicalsection.
