The Staten Island Vipers Franchise is an affiliate of the American Basketball Association. The American Basketball Association often abbreviated as ABA was a professional basketball league founded in 1967 which originally merged with the NBA in 1976 and was revamped in 1999 as a semi-professional men's basketball league. The Staten Island Vipers were established in 2011. The ABA is more than just a game, we provide family fun and entertainment at affordable prices. Our objective is to enable all of our players, regardless of economic or ethnic background, to achieve their athletic dreams, and thus give them the ability to lead a richer and more fulfilled life. Our athletic program will exhibit true leadership and character at all times. We have assembled a great group of guys and outstanding coaching staff. Our diversity allows us to target every demographic in a professional and unique manner regardless of economic status. Our players consist of former high school standouts, Division 1 college players and overseas professionals. Many of our players have been born and raised in Staten Island.
