It was also involved in a number of other key activities such as certification and the low carbon agenda.Its strategic objectives were:1) To be recognised by employers, governments and other key stakeholders as the independent Standard Setting Organisation for the BSE sector in the UK and the leading voice on skills.2) To be the employer-led, coordinating organisation for the development and maintenance of qualifications and units. 3) To develop and maintain apprenticeship frameworks that meet the needs of BSE employers.4) To ensure that National Occupational Standards for the BSE sector are maintained and enhanced in line with employer demands.5) To provide a cost effective and efficient certification and Modern Apprenticeship issuing service for the BSE sector across the UK.6) To act as the UK lead on skills in the low carbon agenda for the BSE sector.
