The Frankie Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to funding groundbreaking research that involves using dogs to help detect human cancers.OUR MISSION: Develop methods that enable scent-trained dogs to accurately detect human cancers. We merge cutting edge science with innovative dog training techniques to share with the world the benefits of using dogs to diagnose cancer. "It is important to understand that our early results were achieved with dogs who were rescued by various means. In fact, one of our first dogs for which this foundation is named, Frankie, was found on the street near a popular shopping center. He was starving, had heartworms, and bad gum disease.
