University of Kalba

Kalba, once referred to as Ghallah in the early 20th century, is a historic town in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) known for its marine trade links with the Arabian Gulf and India. Today, it is recognized as an exclave of the emirate of Sharjah, positioned strategically between Oman and the emirate of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman coast. The town is adjacent to the notable Khor Kalba, an ecologically significant mangrove reserve on the Omani border.The town's growth reached a significant milestone in 2023 with the establishment of Kalba University. Founded by an Emiri Decree from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the institution was conceived as a non-profit with a focus on innovative education, research, and community service. Though initially a branch of the University of Sharjah, it soon became an independent entity under the new title of University of Kalba. With His Highness's vision and patronage, the University aims to fulfill the academic aspirations of the city's residents.The university's academic structure is diversified, beginning with the College of Sport Sciences, with additional colleges focusing on Arts and Information Technology, Sharia, Law, Business Administration, and more. Its location in Kalba, a coastal city renowned for its picturesque beauty, history, and culture, amplifies its appeal. Built with architectural designs, it's nestled beside the serene Kalba Lake.
