Workforce Australia Local Jobs is a Federal Government-funded initiative that is a first of its kind, designed in response to the impact COVID-19 has had on the economy. The program focuses on reskilling, upskilling and developing employment pathways to assist people to move back into jobs as the economy recovers. Settlement Services International (SSI) successfully tendered for roles as Employment Facilitators within the program, which resulted in three staff members being appointed as Employment Facilitators across three key regions of QLD and NSW (Sydney South West, Gold Coast and Wivenhoe). They work with businesses, employment service providers and training providers to develop and leverage opportunities to match jobseekers with current and emerging employment and training opportunities.
