ZOTEYE (b. 1977) is a Ghent-born, Brussels-based artist. Their parents, who both died early in their life, encouraged them from the age of 10 to take photographs and make weekly visits to the video store to rent American movies. Although it was a long drive to get there, ZOTEYE embraced those outings together with their parents, only realising years later how much it would ultimately shape their future. Those times ended up forming the foundation upon which ZOTEYE would build their love for using the medium of photography, film and music to bring a mirror to humanity, as well as to show us all in another light. After obtaining their BA in Visual Arts from the National Arts Institute in Belgium (2000), ZOTEYE spent 10+ years working across (digital) marketing, visual identity and branding with large companies including FedEx, Proximus and Brussels Airport. From there they began to focus more on individual, custom photography and film projects, with clients including United Airlines, Live Nation, Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Value Retail. Today they have a permanent exhibit at Glidewell Foundries in Birmingham, Alabama and have been published in De Standaard, De Morgen, Het Laatste Nieuws, Flair, Humo and Gazet Van Antwerpen. Limited Edition art has also been minted and sold on multiple blockchains as NFT's (digital collectible art) and prints will soon be available on this website.
