We are a Richmond, Virginia-based nonprofit organization which aims to support and promote the psychological wellbeing of individuals both at home in Virginia and abroad. Since our founding in 2008 by a former mental health officer for Doctors Without Borders, the IFPSW has provided assistance to victims of trauma such as conflict or brutality, victims of sexual assault, AIDS patients, and even former child soldiers. Our projects focus not only on physical healing, but on mental healing as well. All too often, trauma victims are unable to recover mentally or simply give up, even after the trauma has passed. Our mission is to support and promote psychosocial wellbeing.
