Ensuring the mobility of people and goods is one of the major challenges our society is facing - this requires interdisciplinary research and international expertise. At the Institute of Transport Science at RWTH Aachen University, we develop methods and innovative processes for railways in close cooperation with partners from industry and academia; with a focus on the three research fields of railway operations research, transport economics and railway signalling. In the field of airport management, the focus lies on the planning, dimensioning and optimisation of airport facilities as well as urban air mobility.
