Instituto Libertà is a nonprofit civil association that aims to foster initiatives to minimize the effects of social inequality. We are recognized by the Ministry of Justice in Brazil as a "Organização da Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público" (OSCIP), which stands for "Civil Society Organization of Public Interest".Our pholosophy understands that the welfare provided by the State is not enough to reduce social inequality and improve the distribution of income in the country, which claims for a deep cultural change.We share the premise that freedom is a capital factor in determining the essence of the human being, and therefore our line of action consists, mainly, in the promotion of social, cultural, artistic, scientific and literary activities, as well as in the defense of historical and artistic heritage in Brazil.All of our activities assumes that the development of a solid concept of human freedom can only be achieved through a continuous building of human rights, citizenship and democracy.
