The Modernization Project Office (MPO) is responsible for implementing Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL's) construction and infrastructure improvements. MPO is a full-service planning, design, and construction organization, and provides services including strategic planning, design, cost estimating, construction, start-up and closeout, providing cost and schedule controls throughout the process. Staff members work on an assortment of project funding types including expense, capital, programmatic, and line item projects, applying all requirements in order to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and best practices for design and construction.MPO works as the Lab's focal point to ensure that all construction project initiatives support ORNL's mission to deliver scientific discoveries and technical breakthroughs that will accelerate the development and deployment of solutions in clean energy and global security, and in doing so create economic opportunity for the nation.
